Our team of ‘Travel with Us’ volunteers is having an amazing time in Trujillo providing shoes to the people of Peru. Today, Katie shares a quick recap of Day 4 as well as a quick snapshot of a Soles4Souls distribution:

Today was awesome. It was one of the best days of distribution ever–yes, ever! We had two distributions at two different locations. At our first distribution I was able to film a short little video about the ins and outs of a distribution. It is different in each country, and each trip–but for the most part you will be able to understand the general idea. Also, I was able to get some personal stories from some of the children that came to receive shoes that I am going to post next week. Today was just amazing (I was at the door this afternoon collecting tickets and every little boy that came out after receiving shoes gave me a kiss and said “Gracias”. It was too cute) I am really thankful for all of the help from Peru Mission—literally everyone helped way more than I would ever expect an organization to do! They are so nice and willing to help us in every way possible. Also, this team has really bonded and it enables the distributions to be very stress free and each member is an incredibly hard worker. THANKS GIRLS!! I have learned that with this group as long as they have their diet coke and/or coffee, peanut m&ms, and vino they are good to go and there really no need for me–ha, but I am being serious!

I know I promised pictures of the distribution, but they are taking forever to upload so I will wait until I get back to the states to post those. However, I do think that you guys are going to really enjoy the video. Please try to refrain from making fun of my accent! Tomorrow will be a long day, we will tour Trujillo before flying back to Lima where we land around midnight. Our departure back to the States is at 7 so we are just staying in the airport. Developing nations are not known for getting people through lines very quickly so it should be a very interesting day.
